To All who missed St. Patrick’s Festival taking place in Ireland 2012. To All who where lazy to wake up early in the morning to get into city center 3 hours in advance to secure a place near one of the barriers before the Parade 🙂 You can still view some photos from Saint Patrick’s Festival. I hope you had a great weekend, and even thought we didn’t had a Super Bright sunny weather on Saturday we managed to stay Dry for most of the day.

This one of the days that Ireland, and Dublin in Particular get’s greener than ever. Shamrock and Green Vikings. Lady’s who are proud to be Irish and requesting a kiss. Young lads who dress as summer never left this region. Leprechaun Hat’s, and many more mythical creatures feels the streets of Dublin on this wonderful day. But the biggest event that everyone talk and wait for is St.Patrick’s Parade or as some would call it Feast of Saint Patrick.

A bit more about this day: Saint Patrick’s Day or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, “the Day of the Festival of Patrick”) is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March all a cross Ireland and some other countries, such as: Great Britain, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand, among others. Today, St. Patrick’s Day is probably the most widely celebrated saint’s day in the world.

Here are some quick facts about Paddy’s Day:

Over 500,000 people turned in for the parade in Dublin this year.

Almost 3,000 performers took part in the parade.

Very Known Irish football legend where part of this parade – John Giles as Grand Marshall.

As part of the celebrations, 31 global landmarks turned green for the day, including the leaning tower of Pisa, Table Mountain, the London Eye, the Sydney Opera House.

This year the theme of the parade is the wonder and curiosity of science.
